Sometimes loneliness washes over you like a
wave gently rolling onto shore
it approaches without your awareness
and fills you with a yearning that is old but familiar
memories of the past that haunt you in your aloneness
quietly reminding you of happier times gone by
it speaks to you of those who have left and those who
are far and those separated for no reason it seems at all
it saddens the heart and slows you down until you
find your balance in the quiet moments that only
God can fill with a comfort that His Presence can bring
